In our second Kantai Collection gallery, we’ll be introducing you to Akebono. Akebono is an Ayanami Class Destroyer occupying card slot No. 68 with both her standard and Kai variation. She is depicted as a young Japanese girl with purple (sometimes black) hair worn in a ponytail with a wild spring chrysanthemum flower. Her personality is very verbally abusive with no apparent gentle side. She has the mouth of a sailor and often refers to the captain and his tactics as being “shitty”. Akebono doesn’t stand out favorably in history. Unlike her sister-ship Ushio who is considered as the ‘ship of fortune,’ Akebono is taken as the ‘ship of misfortune’.
